Phobia is a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it vehemently. When this fear reaches a level that it hampers with the normal functioning of our minds we get panic attacks. Thus, It is very important to understand, identify and address these symptoms and disorders. Hence, Fears which do not outgrow from childhood are likely to be the phobias.

Firstly, There are various forms of phobias prevailing commonly. Namely, Claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces), Acrophobia (fear of heights), Nyctophobia (fear of the dark), Nomophobia (fear of having a disease, commonly seen in old people) etc. We may be ignorant of the correct term or may not be able to diagnose our condition. But these phobias constantly feature and give us panic attacks. This needs to be treated. Please remember all these conditions can be treated with proper training of the mind. That is why the counseling plays a pivotal role.
